Aunt Jo's Rice tables

Vegetables Rice table

The Vegetable Rice table is exactly what you would expect from it's name. A rice table filled with all kinds of different vegetable dishes. With a choice of more than 8 flavors you want to keep bragging.

During my trips on the island of Bali I visited the Twin waterfalls in Baturiti, Kabupaten Tabanan. I came into contact with an old lady who wanted to tell me more about the vegetarian cuisines of this beautiful island.

While being served the amazing dishes at the end of the evening, I looked out over these two beautiful waterfalls. A trip I can highly  recommend!

Aunt Jo's Rice table

“That’s what makes it so special!” Jo said. ‘In the Netherlands we call it a rice table and use a lot of different dishes to fill the table, but in Indonesia this is not the case at all. There they have one or two different dishes on the table to fill their stomachs with. So you can imagine my embarrassment when I asked where the rest of the food was! We completely understand that you can’t get enough of the delicious meals, so that’s why we also fully filled the table for you!

Aunt Jo's Rice table is a combination for everyone. That way you don't have to think about anything anymore. Meat, vegetables, salads. The buffet is full of surprises!

Jo saw my eyes wandering as if I was trying to tell her with my eyes that something was missing on the rice table. I actually didn’t quite know what it was until I leafed through our photo books. “This is it!” I said.

‘Ooh Aad..’ I heard Jo sigh. “You really are the sweet tooth of the two of us.”

She might say it like this, she herself is no stranger to desserts. Sitting at that waterfall, I actually saw her eat four pieces of layered cake!
